Photo Gallery | Local Bake Shop Offers Free Cupcakes This Saturday

Who doesn’t love free cupcakes, especially when proceeds go towards a great cause for kids?

Occasionally Cake of Alexandria, Va. is celebrating their three-year anniversary, and making life a bit sweeter by handing out one free cupcake to all their patrons this Saturday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

No purchase is necessary, but if you do want to buy a few extra treats, 25 percent of all their sales that day will be donated to the Dunbar Alexandria-Olympic Branch of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington.

“Each year when we celebrate our birthday we want to be able to say thank you to the people who have come in, supported us, and helped us stay profitable especially during this difficult economy, explained Sabrina Campbell, owner of Occasionally Cake. “Hopefully in return, we will receive donations so we can fundraise for a worthy cause, and give back as well.”

The free cupcakes will be available in six flavors: Red Velvet, Pink Champagne, Fuzzy Navel, Strawberries-n-Cream, Funfetti, Grasshopper, and Black and White.

Occasionally Cake is located at 207 King Street in Old Town Alexandria, Va., and 8859 Richmond Highway in Mount Vernon, Va.
