FCPS Posts Graduation Rate of 91.4 Percent

From Fairfax County Public Schools:

Graduation rates released by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) show that 91.4 percent of Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) students from the class of 2011 graduated on time.  This figure exceeds the state average of 86.6 percent by 4.8 percentage points and is up slightly from 91.2 percent for the class of 2010.

Thirty-Four FCPS Students Selected for Virginia Honors Choir

 

From Fairfax County Public Schools:

Vocal musicians from 16 Fairfax County public schools have been named to the Virginia Honors Choir for 2011. The students will perform at the Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA) convention November 19 in Norfolk. Thirty-four Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) students were selected for the choir, and eight students were named alternates.

FCPS Announces Recommended Mathematics Textbooks Available for Community Review

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) will make recommended mathematics textbooks—both digital and print texts;available for community review from Tuesday, October 18, through Wednesday, November 30, at the Leis Center in conference room A.

 New textbooks are being recommended for K-12 mathematics courses offered in FCPS.

Twenty-Four FCPS Students Named National Achievement Scholarship Semifinalists

Twenty-four students from Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) have been named 2012 National Achievement Scholarship program semifinalists in an academic competition for Black American high school students conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).
