From Fairfax County Police Department:

“Operation Empty Cage” will launch on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter as part of the organization’s special two-month long Home 4 the Holidays adoption . One of the campaign’s goals is to empty the shelter’s cages by finding a home for each animal available for adoption throughout the holiday season.

As part of the special Home 4 the Holidays adoption event, the shelter will offer free spay/neuter for the first 100 dogs and cats adopted from the shelter until Dec. 31, 2011.

Greenspring's Annual Halloween Pet Parade Showcases Almost 40 Dogs in Costume

Greenspring's Annual Halloween Pet Parade Showcases Almost 40 Dogs in Costume

The 9th Annual Halloween Pet Parade was held at Greenspring on Saturday, October 29.  As it has been in years past, the parade venue at Greenspring was “standing room only,” as an audience of Greenspring residents, family, and staff watched a parade of costumed pets prance by!  The parade was sponsored by the Dogs of Greenspring resident club at the community.  Thanks to our donating organizations: Felix and Oscar’s, PetSmart, Shampooch Mobile Spa, 1-800-PetMeds, and Weber’s Pet Supermarket.
