Guest judges sampled more than one dozen chili recipes during the ‘heated’ competition
(Springfield, Va.) - While the snow fell around the D.C. region on January 21, more than 150 Greenspring residents and staff warmed up inside at the community’s 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off. This year, over one dozen recipes were submitted from staff members and residents including Greenspring’s reigning Chili Cook-Off champions.
Each chili was sampled and rated by a panel of five judges including ABC7/WJLA-TV news co-anchors Autria Godfrey and Jummy Olabanji, Greenspring’s dining committee resident chairman Hank Spille, Greenspring’s Director of Finance Berwick Drews, and Greenspring’s Associate Executive Director Pam Haman. During the event, the room of chili enthusiasts was entertained by KingStreet Bluegrass, a local Alexandria based-band, as well as Greenspring’s own resident square-dancing club.
