Fourth Old Town Manassas Spring Cleaning Day in April

On Sat., Apr. 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Old Town Manassas will host the Fourth Annual Spring Cleaning Day at the Harris Pavilion at 9201 Center Street in Manassas, Va., where attendees can recycle their gently used household items or clothes and donate them to local non-profits, visit recycling and conservation exhibits, and kids can make earth-friendly art projects. The Manassas Art Guild will also be featuring a spring Earth exhibit, where artists showcase their artwork reflecting themes of recycling, natural materials and the environment. 

Spring Cleaning Day will also provide live entertainment from local entertainers, inflatable moon bounces for kids and a special preview of this summer’s Manassas farmer’s market vendors.

Speedy Green Car Wash Donates More Than $300 to SERVE in February

With the help of their customers, Speedy Green Car Wash of Manassas, Va. raised more than $300 for the local, community organization, SERVE, Inc. as part of a February charity campaign. Customers selected the SERVE fundraiser code when making their car wash selections and 20 percent of their total car wash service went toward SERVE. Volunteers Sought for Park Authority’s Watershed Cleanup Day

From 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 help clean up streams in your community's parks during the 23rd Annual Potomac Watershed Cleanup Day. Individuals, students, families, scouts and other groups can help remove tires, bed springs, bottles, cans, and other myriad debris from local waterways. Boots with sturdy soles are recommended. Wear old clothes and bring gloves. Trash bags and appreciation will be provided.

Volunteer Fairfax and more than 500 community members will honor the 176 individuals, groups, and organizations who have given their time to a broad range of activities and programs.

The Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards serves as a community-wide celebration of volunteerism. C.D. Glin, philanthropist and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and Partnerships with Peace Corps, will serve as the ceremony’s keynote speaker. The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will serve as honorary chairs for the program, and present the awards to the winners.

Salon Daniel Raises More than $500 to Help the American Heart Association

Salon Daniel collected the donations by asking their clients to wear ‘red’ on Saturdays. Salon Daniel donated 10 percent of the client’s total service to the American Heart Association.
