Fairfax County Parkway Ground Clearing Activity

Starting Monday, Nov. 8, crews will begin clearing trees and brush along the Fairfax County Parkway in Springfield for utility relocations and upcoming work on phase III of the Fairfax County Parkway extension. Phase III includes the realignment of Rolling and Hooes Roads and reconfiguration of the Franconia-Springfield Parkway interchange.

This clearing will occur Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., and continue until late fall or early winter. Areas that will be affected include:

  • both sides of Rolling Road south of the Community of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church
  • east side of the parkway south of Hooes Road
  • relocated ramp to Hooes Road to and from the Franconia-Springfield Parkway
  • between Barkers Court and the Fairfax County Parkway on the relocated Rolling Road route

The clearing process will involve installation of erosion and sediment controls. Phase III is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2012. For more information please visit: www.fcparkway.com or www.VAmegaprojects.com/ .
