90th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment

This August marks the 90th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. There will be a celebration commemorating this historic event this Saturday, August 21 at the Workhouse Center in Lorton, VA.

Adults and children are welcome to arrive at 3:30 p.m. to learn about the history behind the Amendment, including the iconic woman that led the 1913 suffragist parade through the streets of Washington D.C on a white horse, Inez Millholland Boissevain. Boissevain’s last public words were, “Mr. President, how long must women wait for liberty?”

Come to the Workhouse Center this Saturday for educational and fun activities for the whole family!
